Case StudiesLiftstream continues success with Celgene Europe in 2009/2010 Liftstream has over the course of 2009 and 2010 continued the successful support of Celgene Europe in building up their Regulatory Affairs function. This recent success builds on the work Liftstream did in 07/08 in building the early management team. This recent activity has seen Liftstream identify key regulatory professionals at all levels of the organisation
who will lead and support the haematology, oncology and inflammation / immunology businesses. It has also helped build out the capabilities in regulatory operations as well as labelling, regulatory intelligence and regulatory CMC. Global Pharma add two strategic appointments Liftstream, the executive search company, completed two strategic search projects for Novartis DRA in the summer 2009. Novartis
were looking to acquire specific regional and global regulatory affairs expertise that could contribute to key products within their cardiovascular and metabolism therapeutic area. Liftstream delivered the recruitment assignment against a comprehensive strategy that recruited across the European and International markets to recruit specific experience able to live and work in Switzerland. The project was delivered extremely
efficiently by Liftstream and the two resulting hires were recruited from an incredibly well defined and pre-selected shortlist of candidates. Liftstream was able to recruit both a Global Product Regulatory Affairs Director and Senior Regional Regulatory Leader for Novartis. Emerging markets expertise recruited for specialist Pharma company In September 2009, Liftstream completed the successful recruitment search campaign for Europe's leading specialist pharmaceutical company, Norgine. With an emphasis on identifying a key senior management professional that could drive Norgine's strategic regulatory affairs activities in the UK and in medium-sized and emerging markets. The executive search was co-ordinated around a tailored
recruitment search strategy that resulted in a highly qualified regulatory affairs professional being recruited. We were also able to bring visibility to Norgine by advertising the role to the regulatory community via the industry media. Biotech recruits Clinical Programme Leader Liftstream was enaged by a leading oncology biotechnology company to recruit a Clinical Programme Manager to oversee clinical trails in Europe in the area of oncology and haematology. We conducted a thorough assessment of the company's clinical trial outlook and constructed a comprehensive strategy that detailed a clear approach for identifying and engaging this specialist skill-set. In recruiting the person we ensured both scientific and leadership qualities and the final appointment proved to be a very strong match with the initial profile agreed with the client. Leading CRO recruits Business Development Director Parexel is a global provider of Clinical Research Outsourcing services. They have a Clinical Pharmacology business unit that provides specific Phase I/II services to biotechnology and pharmaceutical companies. This highly scientific strand of their business required a Business Development Director to help them scale their Clinical Pharmacology operations in the UK and across the Global unit. Liftstream were selected as the specialist executive search provider to accurately identify candidates with the specific experience and understanding of selling Phase I/II clinical services. This search was conducted across Europe within the clinical community to attract leading business development professionals towards the opportunity. Liftstream's proactive approach helped Parexel successfully recruit the particular skills they required within Phase I. Global Biotechnology recruits Regulatory Affairs Director We were selected to conduct an International search campaign to recruit a Director of Regulatory Affairs for a global biotechnology company who are developing products in the oncology therapeutic area. One of the areas that was critically important was to be able to carry the company's propositon to the target audience. The lack of visibility of the company and the incredibly tight market for regulatory affairs skills made executive search a clear choice for attracting and appointing a successful candidate. Liftstream was able to work extensively across the European Regulatory Affairs market to stimulate interest and select a high-calibe field of candidates. From this field the company were able to employ a strongly qualified Regulatory Affairs Director with experience in biotechnology drug development. Global BioPharmaceutical company recruits key regulatory affairs professionals Liftstream were retained to recruit some key regulatory positions that would complete the management team of Celgene International based in Neuchatel, Switzerland. We were responsible for recruiting a Director Regulatory Affairs and Director Regulatory Affairs Operations and Regulatory Manager Marketed Products. The search was conducted throughout Europe and International markets to bring about the very selection of candidates and we were able to complete this assignment, overcoming considerable logistical challenges and a changing business environment as Celgene announced its acquisition of Pharmion. This assignment highlighted the extensive market knowledge Liftstream has of the European and International regulatory talent markets and how it can engage leading candidates and lead them through complex recruitment procedures in a competitive regulatory recruitment market. |
